Laptops and PDAs - The
only piece of technology you need to access our system is your laptop/PDA
and an Wi-Fi 802.11b wireless card. These cards are inexpensive and
available everywhere - in fact, 800,000 wireless cards are sold each
month throughout the world. Many new laptops are shipped with wireless
cards built right in as part of a standard package.
Wireless Access Point - Just like
in a cordless telephone, the Access Point sends and receives wireless
Internet signal from your laptop. In most locations, the access point
is contained within the DragNFly
FlyPoint Gateway Server, a tiny box located in a secure location.
DragNFly FlyPoint Gateway Server
- The FlyPoint acts as the gatekeeper to the Internet. This machine
captures your request for service when you first open up your web
browser, and sends you our login screen. The FlyPoint Server is entirely
self-contained, allowing anyone to become a FlySite in minutes.
WAN Connection - The WAN (Wide Area
Network) Connection is the point where the high speed connection to
the Internet, typically a DSL line, enters the location. Through the
WWW Secure Tunnels, the FlyPoint sends your login requests and purchasing
information to our Authentication/Billing Servers. Once connected,
you can access the web, your email, or get to your company's internal
network via a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
World Wide Web Secure Tunnels - All
transactions with DragNFly
are done through a secure "tunnel" via the World Wide Web.
Data sent over this link is as secure as at the banks' websites at
128-bit encryption. Read more about our security measures here.
Authentication Servers - These
servers are located in the Network Operations Center. They
processes all login requests and give the FlyPoint the green
light to let you surf freely. Once you've logged in, and connected
to the DragNFly
Network, you are free to surf!
FlyCodes - FlyCodes are also
provided at some DragNFly
locations.
